Today, at 11:00 a.m., the 19th protest, organized by the Alliance for the Protection of the Theatre, is expected to take place in front of Tirana City Hall, where representatives from the Democratic Party will be present as well as well-known figures from art. 

Hundreds of citizens, activists and representatives of the opposition will again demand the resignation of the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj.

The protests in front of this municipality are taking place because of the scandals that happened in this institution, such as the incinerator affair and the "5D" file, where a number of directors were arrested after SPAK investigations.

Even Veliaj himself was questioned by SPAK about the incinerator affair, while the court issued other security measures a few days ago, by order of the special prosecutor.

Tensions and clashes with the police have not been missing in recent protests, as protesters have tried to enter the municipality building.

Flares and gasoline bottles were also thrown, as well as tires were burned. Members of the opposition in the Municipal Council of Tirana have not been allowed to enter the institution of the municipality.

However, citizens have warned that the protests will not stop./  CNA
