The head of ARRSH, Evis Berberi, has spoken about the problems on Rruga e Arbri, namely in the Murri Tunnel, where he says that the works are being carried out carefully due to the geological conditions.

He emphasizes that the works will be prolonged until the correct construction of the Tunnel is achieved while adding that other works such as the bridge and tunnels have been completed and the work continues for the systemization of the slopes in some parts of the road as well as the laying of the last addition of asphalt

" As we have emphasized before, the problem on Rruga e Arbri is related to the difficult geology that has been encountered in the area and mainly to the Murrizi tunnel.

Currently, work is being done in the Murrizi Tunnel, where due to the geological conditions and the geological formation, the works are being carried out carefully. The concessionaire estimates that with this progress, additional time for the construction of the tunnel will be achieved.

While the works for the other works of art, bridges and tunnels have been completed and the work continues for the systemization of the escarpments in some parts of the road as well as the laying of the last addition of asphalt", Berberi told Monitor Magazine.

The head of ARRSH has responded to the question regarding the separate tendering of the construction of the slopes worth about 10 million euros.

Barber stated that based on the deformations and deep cracks evidenced in the geological report and a detailed investigation by an inter-institutional group, the escarpments were unstable and in critical balance.

" The works on the slopes were tendered by ARRSH, as works started earlier by the former DPRR in the years 2009-2013. The tendered works were not foreseen in the Concessionary Contract/PPP "Rruga e Arbri".

For the works done on the escarpments earlier by ARRSH, the PPP contract provided for improvement, completion (cleaning of channels, anchors and installation of wire mesh for their protection).

Based on the deformations and deep cracks evidenced in the geological report and a detailed investigation by an interagency group, the escarpments were unstable and in critical balance. The protection of the escarpments would bring safety during the passage of vehicles.

In addition to the works to protect the escarpments, their revitalization will also be done, adding greenery by planting trees and plants that grow in the surrounding areas", Berberi continued.

Among other things, the head of ARRSH emphasized that there is no additional cost for the construction of this axis, since the costs are covered by the concessionaire company.

"Yes, definitely, it is the independent engineer who prepares periodic reports on the physical progress and quality of construction or on compliance with the standard of the facility according to the approved project.

No, there is no additional cost in financial value. The costs are covered by the Concessionaire Company. The value of the contract is the value approved by the VKM of 2018", said Berberi./ CNA
