Davide Pecorelli, 47, the businessman from San Giustino who staged his death, has been released by an Italian court.

Such a decision was taken only 2 days after his arrest for the purpose of extradition to Albania.

Pecorelli staged his death in Albania in a fake car accident in January last year to escape debts and appeared off the island of Montecristo in September.

The car was burned and human remains were found inside which, according to the Albanian police, Pecorelli had taken by desecrating a grave in a cemetery across the Adriatic.

Pecorelli is accused by the Albanian authorities of having initiated extradition practices for fraud, false statements, desecration of graves, obstruction of justice, damage, fire and illegal border crossing./ CNA.al
