The Minister of the Interior, Ervin Hoxha, together with the General Director of the State Police, Ilir Proda, from Tirana started the presentation of 12 local directors.

"The appointment of Elton Alushi represents not only a step forward in the consolidation of security structures, but also a new commitment to meet the expectations of the citizens of the capital, where the challenges are numerous and dynamic, under the vision "Albania 2030", the minister underlined Hoxha.

He further said that Tirana, as the administrative, economic and social heart of the country, requires a Police that is not only vigilant and effective in preventing and fighting crime, but also a police that is close to the community, building the bridge of trust and cooperation.

Hoxha demanded the quick clarification of criminal events, as well as the reopening of investigations into old events, which are the cause of a chain of consequences, if they remain unpunished.

Director Vilson Bala was presented in Durrës.

"This city has strategic importance due to its position as a gateway to Albania. This makes it face complex challenges in the field of public security and the fight against criminality. For this reason, the management of police structures in this area requires a clear vision, strategy and maximum commitment to the implementation of the law with impartiality and professionalism", said the minister in a meeting with the leadership structures of DVP Durrës.

Vilson Bala comes to this position after a long career within the Police. He ranked first in points in the competition.

Hoxha added that Durrës, as an economic, tourist and transit center, requires a well-coordinated approach to ensure a safe environment for residents and visitors.

"The new management structure will work closely with law enforcement agencies to combat any form of organized crime, trafficking and evasion. Security is not only a responsibility of the police, but a common duty of the entire society," said the interior minister. / CNA
