The Head of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla, delivered his speech in the Assembly, regarding the debate on the development of the motion with debate on the integration process.

Addressing the opposition, Balla stated that the majority is ready to approve any opposition proposal, if it is first presented and discussed.

Among other things, Balla stated that the opposition has not participated in any vote on the laws approximating Albanian legislation with that of the EU.

"We need to come to the part about this debate. The discussion in the Conference of Mayors, I said on May 7 or 14 to hold the debate that we agreed on. You say we want it immediately, we say we will hold it on May 7 or 14.  You say that the majority has limited, denied you the right to bring legal initiatives, that of approving the initiatives. I don't know, that the current majority between the CDU and SPD will approve legal initiatives from the AfD or the Greens. It doesn't happen. You say we submit proposals, you approve. We are ready to approve the proposals, but not by force. Not by force and fuss. You have to come and present it, we discuss it and let's approve it. Today, you lovers of integration, we have started the legislation at the end of September. Since that day, here we have the laws of approximation of the legislation of the preconditions for Albania's membership in the EU, 23 laws. In none of them is there a single vote in favor of yours. In none of them is there a vote in favor of the DP. You come and say why you do not vote for our laws. These are not our laws, but they are laws of Albania's approximation to the EU. There are those among us who have not agreed in the groups, it has been difficult for me to bring it into line with European legislation. If you want integration, membership, bring your proposals, for laws, investigative committees, motions with debate but with the option that you either accept this or we... we cannot do it. We do not accept pressure. As for the facade of false normality or exclusion from the process. Who excluded you? You have excluded yourself. One position of the DP deputies was to develop the motion with debate but without a date, our proposal to develop it on May 14. For European issues", Balla said. /CNA
