The police, through an official announcement, announces the measures taken by the Traffic Police during the week against drivers who have violated the Traffic Code.

From continuous and intensive monitoring, the Police announces that last week, 16 citizens were arrested who were driving the relevant vehicle while intoxicated.

Among other things, the police statement reflects the high number of administrative measures given for using a mobile phone while driving, not wearing a seat belt.

" Increased controls continue on all road axes, for identifying and punishing violators of traffic rules who are a potential risk for involvement in road events, as well as for increasing road safety parameters in the capital.

During the past week, 16 citizens have been arrested and prosecuted for driving while intoxicated, without a driving license, and for violating traffic rules.

702 vehicle drivers were punished with administrative measures for using mobile phones while driving.

309 drivers were punished for not giving priority to pedestrians, on white lines.

2,567 drivers were penalized for not wearing a seat belt.

297 administrative measures have been imposed for failure to wear protective helmets by motor vehicle drivers.
