The fate of the missing/ Sula: We have found documentation for the prisoners in

The Authority for Information on Documents of the former State Security announced a few days ago that it has launched an administrative investigation to shed light on the fate of the missing in Spaçi prison.

The head of the Files Authority, Gentiana Sula, spoke about this investigation this evening, who said that everything started with the denunciations of the victims' family members.

In an interview with Merita Haklajn, Sula said that the Files Authority has found important documentation that has clarified the fate of many convicts.

She guaranteed that the institution she leads is able to ensure confidentiality for people who provide information.

"The issue of missing persons was something that we faced with the creation of the institution. Families started coming to knock on our door, because they had been left alone by the institutions. What we had before us were the fates of family members, seeking to find their relatives.

It seems that there are no documents, but on the other hand, in some cases, we have found important documentation that clarifies the fate of the convicts. Not only that, but the institution is able to guarantee the confidentiality of the persons who provide information.

On the occasion of the anniversary of the Spaç revolt, by collecting the testimonies of the persons, where the testimonies of 50 ex-convicts and their family members were taken, who were looking for the missing persons of that area, the convergence of the data they were giving began to be clearly seen.

The collected documentation began to clearly show us that at least in four burial sites, the suspicions are very close that there may really be human remains there. And we are closer than ever, because we have the means.

And we have made the decision that for these 44 people and for these four burial sites, this month is the initial deadline, and I think that this will also show us the challenges, which of course we will make known to the relevant institutions", emphasized Sula./ CNA .co.uk
