The General Director of the State Police, Major Director, Muhamet Rrumbullaku, held a working meeting today at noon with the central and local leaders of the Police and with the heads of the police stations in the country.

The prevention of the cultivation of cannabis, the reduction of criminality, security during the tourist season, environmental crimes and the performance of police officers to citizens, were the issues that the Director General addressed during the meeting.

The General Director has requested from the Police leaders, at the center and at the base, an increase in the preventive and striking force against the tendencies to cultivate narcotic plants, more efficient control of the territory, an increase in proactive preventive investigations with the aim of punishing responsible citizens who order and finance the cultivation of narcotic plants.

Regarding criminality, despite the fact that the criminal situation has a downward trend, the General Director has requested an increase in police intelligence in order to prevent potential criminal events in time. Surprise checks on anyone for whom there is information that they have criminal tendencies or engage in criminal activity. More work should be done to provide information, to locate the wanted citizens, with high social risk, in order to catch them.

In the framework of the tourist season, the General Director has requested coordination of actions with all structures that have responsibility for security during the tourist season. To increase the control from the land and from the sea, for the citizens who exercise recreational activities with boats at sea, in order to increase the safety of vacationers, but also to prevent and attack illegal traffic. Music in bars, after hours or abuse of permission to play music within hours, should not be tolerated in any way. Owners or administrators of businesses that cause noise pollution will have their music equipment confiscated.

Environmental crimes were another topic discussed by the Director General, who drew attention to the erosion of river beds, illegal cutting of forests and the tendency for construction without permission, within the yellow line and in coastal areas.

The Director also focused on the performance of the Police officers and for this he requested that the Police leaders stay closer to the effectives, control and manage the dependent structures, since the performance is one of the main nodes that connects the Police with the citizens.
