The special envoy of the United States of America for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, has commented on the statement of the American ambassador in Belgrade, Christopher Hill, who told Prime Minister Albin Kurti that he has some problems and does not know if he could be considered a partner or not.

 In an interview for the Institute for Politics and Economics of Southeast Europe, Escobar emphasized that Kurti is a partner of the USA, Kosovo is a partner of the USA, and so is Serbia.

Escobar underlined that a way must be found for both sides to become part of the EU.

 " I have to make this clear - Mr. Kurti is our partner. He is sometimes a difficult partner, but he is a partner. Kosovo is our partner. Serbia is our partner.

So, in the future, we want to use the good relations we have with Kosovo and the improving relations we have with Serbia to find a way, to find a mutually acceptable and mutually beneficial way so that both are part of the European Union together.

And not only that, but that both help open the door to integration for the rest of the region. So we want to use our good relationship to help mediate in the future," Escobar stated./ CNA.al
