Lawyer Genc Gjokutaj has spoken about the continuity of the judicial process of the former prime minister Sali Berisha as well as the latter's son-in-law Jamarbër Malltezi.

Gjokutaj says that when politics gets involved, there are short cuts and pruning. He says that Berisha did not abandon the case, but the investigation.

"It is too early to say what Berisha will do. We will appeal this decision to the Court of Appeal. This, as a special court, has a practice that requires the defense party to complete the deadline. The obligation to appear before the judicial police seeks to verify Berisha's presence at the disposal of the investigation. Berisha has stated that he is not abandoning the case, but the investigation. If they had followed the parliamentary procedure, this would not have happened. Berisha is under permanent attack from the majority and from Basha. When politics gets involved, there are short cuts and pruning.
