The President of the Special Court, Erion Bani, delivered his speech at the inauguration of the new premises of the Special Court. Bani stated that this transformation of the premises aims to increase functionality and improve the quality of service for citizens.

Among other things, he emphasized that the reconstruction of the courtrooms has been done in order to guarantee order and security.

The head of the GJKKO further added that the investment brings a strong message that illegally acquired wealth is returned to the citizen in the form of public service and the guarantee of independent justice.

"This transformation comes as an institutional responsibility and obligation to the citizen. It was continued with the halls because they are the citizen's first contact with the Court. This process did not stop only at the halls and lobbies, the intervention was extended to other important premises, the media office and the judges' offices. A transformation that aims to increase functionality and increase the quality of service. The media has a role in informing the public, therefore the creation of an environment for journalists is seen as part of the judicial culture. An environment has been created for witnesses who should feel safe and protected. In the designs of a courtroom, we have also taken into account international standards. It is important that the courtroom guarantees order and security. Conditions have been created for detained persons to participate in a safe session and while respecting their rights. A safe court is more functional and more independent. The premises of the GJKKO have a special importance not only financially but also symbolically. This investment brings a clear message, the wealth secured in "illegal means is returned to the citizen in the form of public service and justice ," Bani said. /CNA
