Defense Minister Niko Peleshi has announced that the reformation of the University of Korça, "Fan.S.Noli", has begun.

Peleshi shares the news that the Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu, with the support of the Albanian-American Foundation for Development AADF, has contracted 3 experts from the Albanian diaspora in the USA with experience as professors and scientific researchers in several US universities, to support the process of reforming the "Fan.S.Noli" university.

Another development is the meeting with Minister Anila Denaj for the opening of the soil analysis laboratory, the connection of the Agricultural Technology Transfer Center with the Faculty of Agronomy and the support of scientific research centers related to the needs of the region's farms will be the subject of the work of a working group that is being set up for this purpose in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

The Minister also indicates that the Albanian Development Fund has started the procedure for the restoration of the historical building of the former senate donated by the philanthropist Thoma Turtulli and the construction of a new knowledge complex.

According to the minister, it will be an increased space for the university to develop new innovative programs.

Fan.S.Noli University, in cooperation with ADF and Korçë municipality, should work in parallel to prepare new programs in partnership with well-known universities, which will fill the modern spaces of this knowledge complex with excellent students.

" GOOD NEWS FOR THE UNIVERSITY

Today, the most critical challenge for Korça as a municipality and as a region is demography. So, how to make Korça attractive for young people and professionals.

There is only one answer: first, to create modern and affordable schooling opportunities and, second, to create employment opportunities for young people.

If we want to simplify it further, we can leave only the first one, because the second one is a derivation. So, if we give value to the degree of our university Fan S. Noli and if we produce professionals equipped with the knowledge of the time, the job offer will come, either through industries that are reallocated to where they find staff (especially technology businesses), either through the golden opportunity of online work. University, university, university. That is where all the forces should be concentrated today, the leadership of the university, the academic staff, the district municipalities, the central and regional institutions and every actor who has the opportunity to lend a hand.

We have no choice but to dare to be the best. Our shared history gives us examples of how our ancestors succeeded.

The work has begun and I want to share here 2-3 positive developments in which I have given modest support, in addition to the many efforts that the academic staff of the university make every day:

1. Minister of Education and Sports, Mrs. Ogerta Manastirliu, with the support of the Albanian-American Foundation for Development AADF, has contracted 3 experts from the Albanian diaspora in the USA with extensive experience as professors and scientific researchers in several US universities, to support the reform process of Fan S. Noli University . Together with the minister, we held a first conversation with them and soon the work will begin in cooperation with the leadership and departments of the university.

2. Together with the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mrs. Anila Denaj, we held a fruitful meeting with the lecturers of the Faculty of Agronomy. The opening of the soil analysis laboratory, the connection of the Agricultural Technology Transfer Center with the Faculty of Agronomy and the support of scientific research centers related to the needs of the region's farms will be the object of the work of a working group that is being set up for this. purpose in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

3. Rector of the Polytechnic University, Mr. Andrea Maliqari, and the rector of Fan S. Noli University, Mr. Dhimiter Bello, signed at the weekend the cooperation agreement between the two universities, which will be the framework where joint programs in contemporary profiles will come to life. Hopefully we'll have some nice surprises later.

4. The Albanian Development Fund has started the procedure for the restoration of the historical building of the former senate (donated by the philanthropist Thoma Turtulli) and the construction of a new knowledge complex. This new unit will be an added space for the university to develop new innovative programs. Fan S. Noli University, in collaboration with ADF and Korçë municipality, must now work in parallel to prepare new programs in partnership with well-known universities, which will fill the modern spaces of this knowledge complex with excellent students. With this complex, Fan S. Noli University provides a modern and sufficient infrastructure to accommodate not only students from Korça, but also others from Albania and the countries of the region.
