The PL vice president, Erisa Xixho, has denounced that 2 million euros have been invested for government buildings.

In her statement to the media, Xixho said that funds for investment in education have also been cut.

Xixho emphasized that education has never been a priority of this government and therefore today there are 43% fewer students than in 2011.

The budget for education has also been reduced, which is 2% from the 5% it should have been.

Erisa Xixho's full statement:

The government once again showed incompetence and cronyism with the latest normative act. For the umpteenth time, a normative act is coming to the Assembly that ignores the needy layers, because it was drafted by order of the government's clients.

The touching of very delicate sectors on the one hand and the inflation of construction tenders and operating expenses for luxury offices on the other hand show that this government considers the state budget its own private purse, where it can put its hand whenever it wants. to satisfy the appetites of those she loves.

In fact, the additional 7.5 billion leks in the budget are not the result of positive performance in the realization of tax revenues, but stem from the increase in income tax on profit, from personal income and social security. In other words, it is money that has come out of the wallet of the local business.

With the new normative act, the government has decided to ignore thousands of poor families who are facing a doubling of prices. No support package for any of the categories in need.

The normative act of the "Rama" government does not provide for an increase in salaries, but provides for a decrease in the pension fund, as the priority for the government remains the increase of operating funds for luxury expenses as well as capital expenses.

While it does not hesitate to cut investments in housing, education and health, the government sets aside 2 million euros for investments in its own buildings.

I want to focus specifically on education, because it is better than anywhere else to see what this government does not care about.

Funds for investments in education have been cut by 8.5 million euros.

The government has seen fit to take away these funds from our children, to spend them in the luxury of their own offices.

Underfunded and with a budget half the norm, education is hit again.

Education is once again the sacrifice of this government that has systematically ignored and despised the lecturers, teachers and students of this country in recent years.

Just like in March last year (education funds were cut by 13 million euros), when Europe was threatened by the energy crisis, the "Rama" government is the first to sacrifice education funds.

After legally taking medical students' diplomas hostage, after forcing one out of three graduates to leave the country, after defrauding thousands of others with scholarships of priority branches, Rama's government decides to take away investment money from the country's educational institutions.

Beyond the government's stale propaganda, these are the stubborn facts that prove once again that education has never been a priority of this government.

Unfortunately, today there are 43% fewer students in the country's universities than in 2011. Projections speak of halving this number within the decade.

Interest in the branches of education has fallen to 6% of the total number of students, the education budget is only 2% of GDP, while it should have been at least 5%, funds for science are almost non-existent, 0.084% of GDP while the EU standard is 1% GDP, also 94 study programs are at risk of closure.

And while these numbers scream about the crisis in Albanian education, the government increases its luxury budget. We will pay over 4 billion lek for the Garden of Eden in the Prime Minister, approximately as much as is needed to triple the baby bonus and to help families who give birth to children.

This government has ignored and misused education, ignored and despised lecturers, students, teachers and educators.

The drama of the depopulation of the country is not fought either by hostage-taking of diplomas or threats of teaching staff, but with responsibility, with bold decision-making, with inherent policies for education, making it a real national priority.

Alarm bells have been ringing for some time, but this government has no ears to listen and no will to reflect.

Today more than ever, it is threatening to ruin the future of our youth, so it must be stopped today, not tomorrow!
