Yesterday, March 16, 2025, on the second Sunday of Great Lent, His Beatitude, Patriarch of Bulgaria, Daniel, held a telephone conversation with His Beatitude, the newly elected Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës and all Albania, Joan.
Patriarch Daniel warmly congratulated the new Archbishop, wishing him to continue with dedication and abundant fruits the commendable work of his predecessor, the late Archbishop Anastasios, who reestablished the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania and became one of the most prominent missionaries of our time.
For his part, Archbishop Ioan expressed his deep gratitude to the Patriarch of Bulgaria for this warm greeting and expressed the wish that the excellent relations between the two sister churches continue and be strengthened in the future./ CNA
