Cleaning and waste removal in Saranda, 1.3 million euros for the service

City cleaning and waste removal in the tourist town of Saranda is expected to cost the municipality 1.3 million euros over 12 months.

The latter opened a procurement procedure by setting conditions for contractors regarding the services they must perform, as well as the schedules in which this must be done, taking into account the season.

Specifically, the service is divided into two periods, October-May and June-September, taking into account the tourist season.

"In order to meet the needs of the territory with the cleaning service, taking into account the specifics of the Municipality of Saranda, the services have been organized and calculated for two periods. The first period is the one that includes the provision of the service during the months of October - May and the second period June - September," the municipality's specifications state.

Regarding service schedules, the municipality specifies that the waste removal schedules to be submitted for approval must be prepared so that all work is carried out during the night, starting no earlier than 7:00 PM, so that the contracted area is completely clean by 7:00 AM.

"Changes in the operating hours and end of service in the area will be accepted only due to the objective impossibility of performing the anticipated service, as well as in cases of changes in the schedule for commercial routes, but always after the changes in the Work Schedule have been officially verified and approved by the contracting authority," the document states.

The Municipality, which in this case is the contracting authority, underlines that it has previously foreseen all waste collection points for the placement of 471 containers with a volume of 1.1 m3, within the contracted area and 50 plastic containers of 0.25 m3, 60 containers of 0.05 m3 and 350 metal containers of 0.25 m3. The service operator must perform the full service foreseen in the methodology, 471 container emptyings/day.

The company that will conclude the contract after the completion of the procurement procedures will have to, in addition to collecting, stacking and transporting waste to the Baikal landfill, also take care of sweeping the city streets and washing the streets and squares. / Monitor Magazine
