"Uncertainty about the future"/ Ibrahimaj: A slowdown in economic growth is expected

The Minister of Finance, Delina Ibrahimaj, has stated that the Albanian economy is performing well, while emphasizing that the preliminary figures for the second and third quarters show a continuation of economic growth.

During an interview for A2 Business, Ibrahimaj says that the uncertainties are related to the future, saying that a slowdown in economic growth is expected, but not a recession.

"The Albanian economy is still performing well. Preliminary figures for the second and third quarters show a continuation of economic growth. In 2022, we aim to have a 3.2 percent increase, but the chances are that this increase will be even greater. In the January-August period, we had an increase in income significantly higher than the increase in inflation. While we have uncertainties related to the future.

Of course, Albania is not an island and interacts with the world economy, but our expectations are in the positive direction. We expect a slowdown in economic growth, but we do not expect a recession" , said Ibrahimaj./ CNA.al
