The murder of Pjerin Xhuvan / Scandal, how the court hearings are dragging on

The court hearing for Arbër Paplekaj, who is suspected of murdering Pjerin Xhuvan on April 21, 2021, is postponed again. His confrontation with the judge is being postponed for the fifth time with an already very banal motivation. 

This time, the reason for the postponement of the session was announced through an e-mail where the General Directorate of Police does not have the necessary capacities to transport Paplekaj to the court premises. 

Paplekaj's lawyer stated that his client requested to be present in court, but the hearing failed again. 

We remind you that the event took place on April 21, 2021, where during a clash between two political groups in Elbasash at an election time, where the doctor Pjerin Xhuvani, then exponent of the Socialist Party, was killed. Meanwhile, 4 other people were injured, including a police officer. 

After the serious incident, the author Arbër Paplekaj, at that time the companion of the political leader of the DP in Elbasan (Gazmend Bardhi), surrendered to the police. Paplekaj was a former operative of Renea, so he was circulating in Elbasan armed as part of the structure for the protection of the vote, a structure which was set up by the PD throughout the country./ CNA.al
