After the approval of the legal changes in the tourism sector, the hotels will now have to be equipped with the categorization certificate.

The procedures for the application of the certificate will be carried out in e-albania where the subjects must upload some documents, if it is a guest house, hotel, motel, resort and others.  

After the approval of the legal changes in the tourism sector, several more units have been added to the list of accommodation structures that have the obligation to be provided with a categorization certificate.

"Some new categories of accommodation structures have been added, the new structures are apartments, rooms, and group of apartments which are accommodation structures that are being used a lot in air bnb. From the system of historical centers, we have two new categories which are hotels in historical centers and the structure that comes from Italy, which is the distributed hotel.

There will be no cost to be equipped with the certificate. But there will be a fine for subjects caught without a categorization certificate.

Fines range from 200-400 thousand ALL based on the number of rooms./ CNA
