GJKKO has left in prison the former head of the Albanian Road Authority, Evis Berberi and two businessmen Valter Begaj and Ervis Lami.

Barber's lawyer, Gentian Romano, denied that the former high official awarded the tender unfairly.

"They turned a commercial civil case into a criminal case. During this time, you followed the civil-commercial legal relationship between the parties in this process, which was then determined by SPAK as a criminal case. We had our position against the accusations that have been made by the Prosecutor's Office, they are accusations that seek to constrain the court to the extent of securing prison terms.

It is inappropriately abused with economic values. These things will be clarified, real economic analyzes will be presented from our side. There are no earned values. They turned a commercial civil legal process into a criminal case", the lawyer emphasized.

The barber was arrested on Wednesday by order of the Special Prosecutor's Office, as he is accused of corruption and money laundering.

The investigations for Berberi are being followed by the prosecutor Dritan Prençi.
