The German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, has strongly criticized Russia for the war in Ukraine and the ban on the grain export agreement.

Scholz stated that Russia has no excuse for exporting grain, as it has caused more hunger and food insecurity around the world.

He also mentioned the request of the United Nations for peace and the lack of a response from Russia.

" Russia has unilaterally withdrawn from the Black Sea Initiative, causing more hunger or food insecurity around the world. There is no excuse for this. Any claims that sanctions are hindering Russian exports of fertilizers and grains are false, there is no evidence to support this. In contrast, Russia dominates the fertilizer market in the world. 2022 was the record year of their export.
