It is known that the customs are dens of thieves, but now they have also turned into refuges for palaces, we are learning this recently.

CNA has started an investigation regarding the transport of toxic waste from Albania to Asian countries.

There was a lot of noise, debates, political clashes, accusations and so on, but in order not to be part of them, going above the parties, to tell the truth that interests the public, we started an investigation.

We followed the Prime Minister's advice, which suggests us to ask the institutions, and we did so.

On September 8, we sent an official letter to the General Directorate of Customs, not to learn how any Turkish citizen was deceived into giving him an Albanian passport or about the thefts that happen 24 hours a day at customs, these are already known, I know Gent Gazheli well, one of the characters of great deeds and tragedies, despite the fact that he is hiding in the customs den and buys influence to avoid media concerns and reports.

Information required by customs

In accordance with the law, we sent a letter to the Customs Directorate, as you can see below, but this institution full of thugs and incompetents, thieves and corrupt did not give us an answer.

For almost 3 weeks, we did not receive an answer, and on September 28, we sent a second letter to the Commissioner for the Right to Information, to obtain information.

The second letter, addressed to the Customs Directorate

We started a simple investigation and not only with the customs, in some responsible institutions regarding what had happened, to tell the truth to the Albanians and first we turned to the institutions to have accurate official information and not left to political accusations and rumors.

The first time they didn't answer us, which raised our doubts, why is the answer delayed, what is the reason they don't tell us the truth?

We had asked simple questions: What waste is it? Did they enter or not enter Albania?

In case they did not enter, it is simple, they could say that such remains did not enter Albania.

In case they came out because they are waste produced by Albanian companies, the answer would be that they came out so much, in such a time, it is very simple. They came from Durrës, they came from Vlora, they may have come from Rinas.

Therefore, we were surprised that our simple questions were not answered by customs. But after we approached the Commissioner for the Right to Information and the moment they received the second letter and realized that someone would be fined and the case would go to court, we got an answer.

The answer was given to us by Elvis Sejdiaj, a customs official who covers the media, he is called a media coordinator. When we received the answer and contacted us, it is understood that he gave us an exit, "we work with customs codes".

According to the gentleman, journalists must know the well-defined waste codes, they must have done customs school , this school of thieves of Gent Gazheli soldiers or of selling Albanian citizenship to Turkish citizens to get an answer from customs.

When he then calls the customs media coordinator and explains that there is a Constitution, article 23, point 1, there is a law on the right to information and the journalists are asking simple questions, have hazardous waste entered Albania and hazardous waste has come out of Albania.

While the media coordinator tells us find the codes or how many different codes there are. It's like asking him how many liters of beer enter Albania in a year and he tells you that the beers are of different types. Certainly the beers are of different types. We're talking beer, it doesn't matter what kind it is.

We are saying toxic waste, hazardous waste, it doesn't matter how many types there are for us, we want a total amount. The codes are the work of the customs, not the work of the media, but when the palace houses them to deal with the media and not experienced journalists who know how to argue , know how to return an official answer, then this is what happens, they get the experience of gazhels, thieves of customs and so on.

However, we will not give up our investigation, the fact that we got this kind of answer without an answer to hide the truth shows that we are again on the right track, that we are dealing with a scandal and a very big affair behind there are also the customs themselves, which hide the numbers and do not provide the real data regarding the hazardous waste that has come out of Albania./ CNA
