"One of the arrested protesters felt bad"/ Lawyer provides details

The court hearing for the 21 arrested protesters has concluded at the Tirana Criminal Court. The court has withdrawn for a decision, while one of the defense lawyers has shared details about the hearing in a statement to the media.

He said that all lawyers and protesters have unanimously requested that there be no measures of any kind and have described the arrest as illegal.

"All the lawyers unanimously requested that there be no measure and that the arrest be illegal because the detention does not meet any of the criteria. Everyone claimed that the arrest is illegal ," the lawyer said.

Among other things, he said that one of the protesters felt unwell during the session, while he indicated that as soon as he received medical assistance, he returned to the session.

"The conditions we were in were difficult, there were over 23 or 24 lawyers, medical assistance arrived immediately. As soon as the protester felt unwell, the judge stopped the session. As soon as he received medical assistance, he returned to the session. No time was given for the decision to be given," said the lawyer. 

The prosecution has requested the security measure "prison arrest" for three of them, while for the rest, mandatory appearance. Meanwhile, a group of protesters have gathered outside the court in support of the arrested. Citizens have continuously called for their release. /CNA
