The Council of Ministers has approved this Thursday some changes in the law on tourism.

The news was announced by the Minister of Tourism and Environment, Mirela Kumbaro, who said that the 2015 law does not respond to reality and new dynamics.

She said that the changes bring relief in the procedures of bureaucratic practices. According to her, they guarantee fair competition and strengthen administrative measures.

"Today, at the first meeting of the government for this year, we approved changes to an important law. Tourism has been and will be the headline, the 2015 law did not respond to reality and new dynamics. Even the vision of the government is much more advanced than the law of 2015. This necessitated the need for legal changes, either for the new realities in the tourism market, the demands of the consumer, to give more guarantees for better quality services. For the requirements to reflect some realities of accommodation structures that were not in the existing law, it is a mechanism for the formalization of the tourism market. We solve it with the law we just approved today. We guarantee fair competition, honest relationship with taxes in the state. 

Also tourism institutions that are within the ministry, it was necessary that the real practice be reflected in the new law. Changes by easing the procedures of bureaucratic practices, either in relation to ministries or agencies. Facilitation of procedures goes with control to guarantee fair competition, to strengthen administrative measures where these rules are violated. Tourism institutions, a sector that has been transferred to several different organizations, it was necessary for the real practice of these institutions to be reflected in the new law", stated Kumbaro in a media conference./ CNA
