Albanian students in the protest taking place in Skopje, North Macedonia, are demanding the resignation of Justice Minister Igor Fillkov.

The students have warned that they will not withdraw from the protest, while expressing that they are no longer protesting only about the jurisprudence exam, but about respecting the Albanian language.

They emphasized during their speech at the rally that they will not allow the disappearance of the Albanian language but will fight for its protection.

"There is no institution that dares to touch the Albanian language, neither the Ministry of Justice, nor the Constitutional Court. Albanian does not disappear from office decisions nor from politics. We will be here for a long time. We are not looking for anything new, but we are continuing the path of our parents. They asked for schools, we are looking for institutions that respect the Albanian language. We are not guests here, we are autochthonous. We are here for dignity and equality. Today we are united with the red and black army. Minister, you are paid with the sweat of our parents. Don't take that chair for granted. Albanians have gone through time with violence, humiliation and denial, but the Albanian language has neither disappeared nor will it disappear. Today we are here for the respect of the Albanian language, not just for the jurisprudence exam," they said. /CNA
