The Mystery of the Holy Anointing/His Beatitude, John: Let us approach God with

Orthodox believers celebrate the last week of Christ's life, officially called Passion Week, or as it is otherwise known, "Great Easter Week."

The Mass of the Mystery of the Holy Anointing (Ephqelia) was held at the Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ in the capital. This service was led by the Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës and all Albania, His Beatitude, Joan.

After the end of the mass, His Beatitude, Archbishop Joani, delivered the next speech where he gave strong messages to the faithful who closely followed the service. His Beatitude said that we need a general healing. Archbishop Joani called for spiritual purification and to welcome Easter with joy.

Each day of Holy Week has special services and themes, which are held in all churches in the country, services which will continue in the following days.

" Oil is the symbol of Christ's compassion in this wounded world. We need a general healing. Let us purify ourselves spiritually and await Easter with joy. Let us approach God with dignity, not by pushing each other, " His Beatitude said./ CNA
