"Veliaj" case/ The wife of the mayor's friend appears before SPAK

The wife of businessman Elman Abule, Marisa Nito, appeared before SPAK today.

Nito has been summoned to SPAK in connection with the investigations into the "Veliaj" file.

A hearing for Veliaj is expected to take place today at the GJKKO after the latter has requested freedom and information from the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecution regarding the progress of the investigations being conducted against him.

Veliaj is accused of 2 criminal offenses, "corruption" and "money laundering". He was also later charged with another criminal offense, that of introducing illegal items into detention cells.

Erion Veliaj was arrested on February 10 at Tirana Municipality on very serious charges.

After his arrest, he launched an attack on the prosecutor and judge in his case, using intimidating language./ CNA
