Threatened journalist/ 32-year-old man prosecuted

The police have reacted to the threat made against journalist Piro Nase by activist Jeton Muxhaj.

In the announcement, the police announced that they have escorted 32-year-old Muxhaj to the police station and criminal proceedings will be initiated against him.

Muxhaj is accused of the criminal offense of "Threat due to duty".

" The structures of the Gjirokastra Police Commissariat, after receiving a report from citizen PN, 51 years old, resident of Gjirokastra, (journalist), who claims that he was threatened and intimidated via the social network "WhatsApp", due to his duty by citizen JM, immediately reacted by escorting citizen JM to the Gjirokastra Police Commissariat.

 

Under the direction of the Gjirokastra Prosecution Office, the Crime Investigation specialists of the Gjirokastra Police Commissariat are carrying out procedural actions and will refer the materials to the Prosecution Office where criminal proceedings will be initiated against citizen JM, 32 years old, resident of the village of Fushëbardhë, for the criminal offense of "Threat due to duty".

 

"The Gjirokastra Local Police Directorate is fully committed to guaranteeing the safety of every journalist and citizen of the Gjirokastra district, guaranteeing immediate and legal response ," the police announced./ CNA
