Democratic Party MP Belind Këlliçi has called on citizens to gather tomorrow at 10:00 in front of the Parliament of Albania to express their opposition to the decision to grant "extra immunity" to Rama and his associates.
According to Këlliç, tomorrow's meeting is not intended to strengthen laws or improve justice, but rather to protect government officials from the consequences of corruption.
He warns that such an action would place Albania among the countries where corruption is protected by voting.
"With Edi Rama, we are becoming a country that protects corruption with votes, tomorrow at 10:00 your voice must be heard.
While the biggest problem Albania faces today is government corruption, Parliament is not meeting tomorrow to implement a reform, to toughen laws, to facilitate justice, which in this way would serve the public interest and do its part to combat this phenomenon.
Parliament will meet tomorrow to establish extra immunity, to cement by vote the untouchability of Edi Rama and his associates.
If we got this far, where Albania ranks among the most corrupt countries in the world, we got there thanks to Edi Rama.
But tomorrow, by vote, we will be added to an even uglier list. Of countries where corruption is protected by a vote in the Assembly.
With the announced act, which is expected to be made official tomorrow, Edi Rama is showing that he does not count on anyone or anything, neither the citizens, nor justice, nor partners, nor the integration of the country, when it comes to escaping justice and the fate that awaits him.
If left to him, we really haven't seen anything yet, as Albania could take steps backwards that are unimaginable. In every action, Edi Rama is challenging society. He is testing the patience of Albanians.
Tomorrow is the day to show him that he cannot play the country in this roulette, simply because he has been caught up in corrupt affairs.
Let's meet at 10:00 in front of Parliament.
Only we can stop Edi Rama!", declared Këlliçi./ CNA
