"They slammed my door"/ Kelliçi confesses about his career:
The political leader of the PD for Tirana, Belind Kelliçi

The political leader of the DP for Tirana, Belind Kelliçi, has spoken about his political career, the long hours of work and the sacrifices he had to go through during his journey in politics.

Invited to the Aldo Morning Show show, Këlliçi said that the door has been slammed in his face many times and no one has added the red carpet to him.

Conversation

Kelliçi: I have been asked a lot, but even those who are collaborators or friends know the yield. When they come at 9 o'clock in the morning and see you in the office, at work and when they come at 9 o'clock in the evening they see you again in the office or see you in the show, but in shows these last years because of the increase in public activity in in a way, but before it was an extraordinary work in the field, when they see Saturdays and Sundays at work, they understand what happens. I returned to Albania in 2009, I came after the studies I completed in the USA and I have not known anyone in the Democratic Party in a personal sense, I have known public figures, etc. It's not that someone opened the door for me, on the contrary, the door was closed to me when I arrived and I have no complexes about that, I've always said that.

Aldo: Did they slam the door?

Belind Kelliçi: Definitely yes.

Aldo: Who?

Belind Kelliçi: Let's not get into names. "They didn't roll out the red carpet for me. Extraordinary hours, weeks without Saturday and Sunday, days without any kind of schedule.

Aldo: Sandwich, buttermilk pie.

Belind Kelliçi: That is out of the question. Only in the last year's campaign when I ran for mayor in Tirana, the main part of the food was stop somewhere, eat a sandwich, stop eating on your feet because you don't have time, definitely. What I remember are the extraordinary protests and endless resistance, I am serious about this, with hundreds and hundreds of boys who have been beaten and arrested by the ranks of the FRPD in these 12 years since we entered the opposition.

What does it mean, in the 7 years that I have run the youth forum, the main part, the main burden even today for the sake of the truth, of the protests, of the organizations, of the terrain, of the confrontations, has been carried by the youth, carried by the youth, and keep young people and tiring, honestly, always the part when you go to the protest, go with young people, participate and know very well that despite the fact that the protest is peaceful, there can be moments of tension etc. but that never escalate to the point that someone will be arrested, you know that you will end the day not when the protest is over, but you will end up in the police station being interested in young people, following young people and there have often been cases where we have been in court proceedings./ CNA
