Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu

The Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu, held a meeting with the parents of the "Asim Vokshi" school in Tirana, as part of the advisory meetings for limiting the use of platforms such as TikTok.

"So far, we have held over 600 meetings and consultations with parents, engaging over 27,000 parents in dialogue about the development and safety of our children. These meetings have been a powerful platform for cooperation, where we have shared concerns, ideas and concrete proposals to improve the standards of education and the environment of our schools," said Minister Manastirliu.

In her speech, the Minister emphasized the strengthening of mechanisms against violence and bullying in schools.

"We are working on a national action plan to increase safety in schools, as well as to address phenomena related to online violence and bullying. Also, we are strengthening these measures in a sustainable manner. The Prime Minister has already presented an important project, which will be developed within the initiative for smart cities. One of the main steps of this project is the placement of smart cameras inside educational institutions, which will be an essential element for increasing security in schools. This ambitious project, which was inspired by a successful model implemented in the United Arab Emirates, will significantly improve monitoring and control in schools.

Another objective of ours is to strengthen the role of social workers in schools, also advancing in the direction of increasing the number of security officers. We have 276 security officers, this year we will add about 36 more schools with new officers", said Minister Manastirliu.

The minister also focused on the crucial role of the teacher-parent-student triangle and the importance of strengthening the dialogue with the community of parents and taking concrete measures aimed at improving the quality of education and increasing safety in schools.

"Joining on the same front leads us not only to the improvement of educational and educational standards, but also to a healthy development of the young generation, helping them to unfold their highest potential. This is made possible by setting a good example and supporting those who need it most. Each child has a special ability, regardless of grades or evaluations in certain subjects. Each of them should be supported and helped at the right time when the need for help is identified. For this reason, we must be vigilant both at school and at home to help our children. Strengthening instruments for the prevention of violence, be it online or bullying in schools, is very important. Equally important is the role of the parents' council and the school board, which are bridges for a common commitment. By strengthening these mechanisms, we can do even more to support our children and create a safer and healthier environment for them", said the Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu.
