The Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime has sentenced two former employees of the Directorate of Prisons, accused of corruption, to prison and probation.
The AT citizen was sentenced to two years of imprisonment for the criminal offense of "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions" provided for by Article 259/2 of the Criminal Code.
He will serve his sentence in a regular security prison. Also, the defendant AT has been deprived of the right to exercise public functions for a period of 5 (five) years.
The defendant DN was sentenced to 8 months in prison for the criminal offense "Active corruption of persons exercising public functions" provided for by Article 244/2 of the Criminal Code.
However, he was placed on probation for a period of 16 (sixteen) months, provided that he does not commit another criminal offense during this time. During this time, the defendant is forced to maintain contact with the Probation Service Directorate./ CNA
