"Libra" arrives in Shëngjin with 40 emigrants/ The ship will be donated to Albania

The Italian ship 'Libra', with 40 migrants on board, arrived this Friday afternoon at the Port of Shengjin. After the migrants disembark, the ship will be donated to the Albanian state.

The ship departed from the Italian port of Brindisi on Friday morning. The 40 migrants will be placed in the Gjadri camp, which has been converted into a Detention Center for Repatriation, by decree of the Italian government.

It is learned that this time the ship brought immigrants who will be repatriated to their countries of origin, after they were refused asylum.

The reception centers in Gjadra and Shëngjin have been built as part of a bilateral cooperation between the two countries and aim to provide dignified conditions for migrants during their temporary stay. The maximum stay of migrants will be 18 months. /CNA
