In accordance with the Electoral Code, the government has issued a decision to suspend all appointment procedures in the administration, ministries, subordinate institutions, but also in those companies with state capital until the end of the May 11 elections .

Since March 3, this decision has entered into force throughout the territory of Albania and is mandatory for all institutions.

But surprisingly, on April 1, the Steering Council of the Albanian Radio and Television launched the procedures for the selection of the new Director of RTSH. The procedure will be open until April 15, when the deadline for submission of platforms by applicants is.

This procedure will continue and in almost 10 days, the Council will finalize the appointment of a new Leader, a decision that contradicts the prohibitions of the Electoral Code and the decision of the Government itself.

This is due to the fact that the election will take place in a period that coincides with the electoral campaign in the country, which ends with voting day on May 11, 2025.

Definition of the Electoral Code:

"During the election campaign, hiring, firing, dismissal, transfer and transfer to duty in public institutions or entities are prohibited, with the exception of justified cases. Cases are considered justified when the transfer or dismissal comes as a result of violations, according to the relevant legislation, or the hiring is done within the structure and organizational structure in force before the election campaign by the public institution or entity in fulfillment of its mission. Exceptions are cases of emergencies due to unforeseen events that dictate the hiring"/ CNA
