Mati Prenushi, the martyr who gave halal to the executioners who shot him

Mati Prennushi was born on October 2, 1882, to parents Kola and Drande (Roza) Prennushi, in the city of Shkodra. He was baptized with the name Paulin [2]. He belongs to the Prennushi family, the grandson of Don Matia who died in 1904, the year in which Father Matia's nephew was ordained a priest. After his first lessons in his hometown, he attended high school at the College of Troshan, where he also dedicated himself to the order of Saint Francis. He continued two more years of preparatory studies for higher education in Bosnia and, in 1904, completed his theological studies in Graz, Austria. He was well versed in German, French, Serbo-Croatian and Italian.

On April 4, 1904, he was ordained a priest.

"When the Turks, in the agony of the mountains, thought there from 1905 to burn Shkodra, as a sign of revenge for the efforts that were being made to get out of the yoke of their slavery, one Sunday after Mass Father Matia, took off the cloths of the Mass, told the believers ambushed in the yard five minutes. He himself went to the cell, came out in front of the Church and addressed those present and took out a letter from his pocket: "Who is a man and loves Shkodra with his heart, today or never, come with me, I will lead you I will go with stop the hand of Hasmitturk, who loves our brother with money!

In 1911, Father Matia together with Father Buon Gjeçaj are both at the top of Bratila alongside Dede Gjo Luli, with the Flag of Gjergj Kastriot Skënderbeu folded on their chest.

"The flag was raised on the top of Mount Deciqi, near Tuzi. Ate brought it secretly from Shkodra, the Franciscan Padre Mati Prennushi, who had it folded under His shoulder.

Father Mati Prennushi is facing the communist beasts, but his bravery and courage are supported on the historical pedestal of the Albanian Franciscans, left with blood over the centuries, and on that pedestal they will build the Glorious and Eternal Monument, where every Friar with the rope of He was connected with the binomial "Fé e Atdhé" for which they gave their lives "as me lé"

In the last word, on March 11, 1948, at 5:00 a.m. in Zallin e Kiri, near Rëmaj, with doc. No. Reg. 67, in the presence of the judge Cap. I Misto Bllaci, before the execution, Father Mati Kol Prennushi said: "I am innocent, I am dying at the top of my duty." Long live Christ the King, Long live the Pope, Long live the Catholics, Long live Albania! I'm sorry for the trial and what they will do to our innocent bodies!"

This is Mati Prenushi, the martyr who gave halal to the executioners who shot him.

Albania languishes from "silence" and the ideological bombs that killed the libertarian priest, the believer, the flag bearer, and the patriot who loved Albania more than his life!
