The former ambassador of Albania to Britain, Mal Berisha, has commented on the tense situation in the Middle East, focusing on the recent clashes between Israel and Iran.

During his speech in a television studio, Berisha underlined that Lebanon has had problems with Hezbollah and that it is a country with great religious diversity.

According to him, last year's attack on Israel, as well as the taking of hostages, has fueled the most dangerous Palestinian groups and given Israel the opportunity to carry out a project to take over Gaza and the West Bank.

 "I think a spark was found in the kidnapping of innocent people. Israel's response was merciless and disproportionate, making no distinction between innocent civilians and terrorists."

On the other hand, he also mentioned the concerns regarding attacks on nuclear reactors, stressing that these would have a great regional impact.
