Ships with toxic waste on return/ Muçollari accuses the government, calls

The member of the Presidency of the DP, Grigels Muçollari, has accused the government of being silent and being responsible for the ships with toxic waste, which will be returned to the Port of Durrës.

In a statement to the media, Muçollari said that in the event that the government will not be able to escape and will give an account to the international authorities.

"According to reliable information, both ships of suspicious waste, which were loaded in Durrës on July 4 of this year, for which the Basel Network raised the alarm, are on their way back and have arrived in Italy.

So the danger is once again in front of the gates of Albania, less than 100 nautical kilometers from Durrës.

The government, which is responsible for this illegal traffic scandal that reached international proportions, is silent, hides, and does not make public any plans or measures it has taken to deal with this case.

What will he do when the 102 containers are back in Durrës?

What is the plan to ensure regular and transparent testing?

The Basel network has expressed its doubts through an official letter, that the truth of these remains can be compromised. Therefore, this organization has requested the presence of international experts and the testing of 3 samples in 3 different laboratories, independently.

These are the duties and responsibilities of the government.

What are the actions taken so far by the authorities to enable this testing according to international standards, transparent and reliable?

Since the first day, when the scandal broke, the government, the Prime Minister have refused to take responsibility and have blamed the private operators.

Edi Rama and his ilk are used to hiding and escaping their affairs and abuses, due to the control they have over justice, media and institutions.

But this time the job is different. They cannot be imposed on them and cannot be bought by organizations like the Basel Network, and they cannot deal with the obligations of international conventions, as they do with norms and laws here.

If they lack sensitivity and ignore the concerns of local citizens for the environment and health, they will be forced to account for this traffic to international authorities.

Meanwhile, we, the Albanians, have it in our hands and we must seek explanations for this dangerous affair.

October 7 is the occasion to raise our voice, to unite in the square against injustice, against corruption, against the traffic of hazardous waste", said Muçollari./ CNA
