The Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime has accepted the request of the SPAK Special Prosecutor's Office, sentencing Laert Haxhiu to life imprisonment.

SPAK had requested life imprisonment for Laert Haxhiu. The opponent of Aldo Bare's gang is under arrest in Greece, where he is trying not to be extradited to our country, despite the fact that the court in Ioannina has accepted the request of the Albanian authorities.

Laert Haxhiu, opponent of the former leader of the Lushnja gang, risks being locked up in a cell forever. In the process in the Special Court, in the absence of Haxhiu, SPAK demanded a life imprisonment sentence, under the charge of the Lushnja massacre in 2017 where 2 people were killed.

Zamir Latifi, a friend of Aldo Bare's nephew, and Jurgen Hoxha were shot with a machine gun in a bar in the center of Lushnje, while the owner of the bar and a passerby were accidentally injured.

Haxhi's associates, Anterio Kaloshi and Orgest Bilbili, were previously sentenced to life imprisonment for the Lushnja massacre.

The assassination took place on September 25, 2016, when an attempt was made to kill Aldo Bare's nephew, Xulio Shkurti.

An event for which Laert Haxhiu was wanted, sentenced to 18 years in prison in absentia. Exactly while he was hiding from justice, Haxhiu killed 2 people./ CNA
