Lamallari: 13 thousand families benefit from financial compensation from the

Over 13,000 families will receive financial compensation for their properties from the Property Treatment Agency. The good news was announced by the Minister of Justice, Besfort Lamallari, through a video message.

Lamallari explains that the fund of about 1.4 billion lek will go to the owners' bank accounts today and in the coming days. This compensation is the remaining 30% that was due to the entities to be fully paid off as owners.

The Minister of Justice emphasizes, among other things, that he has asked the ATP "to proceed as quickly as possible with this process, with transparency and in strict respect for the law, thus fulfilling the obligation we have towards other owners and of course as part of our commitment to European standards, to a state of law and to a future where property, law and fundamental freedoms are sacred."

Another piece of good news to share with you today, especially for the many, many families who benefit from financial compensation from the state for their properties according to the law. Although we often refer to them as former owners, in fact, from today the Albanian state fully repays and finally restores the right that is due to them.

We just approved the list of 3,527 entities that will be finally compensated by the Property Treatment Agency for the remaining 30%.

With a fund of about 1.4 billion lek, over 13 thousand families benefit directly from the budget allocated by the Albanian government. This is not simply and only a financial act nor just the fulfillment of our functional duty. But it is something more, it is an act of justice. It is respect for property, for the law and for the citizen.

With this payment that they will receive from today and in the coming days, the compensation for these families according to the list published on the official ATP website is considered fully completed and we are thus closing an old chapter.

At the same time, we are determined to continue our unwavering commitment to completing the compensation process for all owners. I have asked the Property Management Agency to move forward with this process as quickly as possible, with transparency and in strict respect for the law, thus fulfilling our obligation to other owners and of course as part of our commitment to European standards, to a state of law and to a future where property, law and fundamental freedoms are sacred.

As we progress every day on the path of no return towards the European Union, financial compensation to the owners is the fulfillment of the Albanian government's commitment to their legally recognized right.
