"Conflicts within the DP have affected parliamentary life"/ EC draft

The European Commission has presented the progress report for the countries of the Western Balkans, which is expected to be approved on October 12. 

Regarding Albania and North Macedonia, the report qualifies that these two countries have started membership negotiations, thus marking a historic moment in the relations of these two countries in relation to the EU.

Another positive development for Albania is that the fight against corruption has taken steps forward, where as an example the punishments against some former high state officials are mentioned. 

The Commission has also presented some criticisms, stating that Albania should do more work to strengthen the structures for EU integration, further emphasizing that cooperation with the opposition and civil society should be increased. 

Another key point of the report states that the internal opposition conflict (DP) has affected the parliamentary life of Albania. 

Money laundering, illegal immigration, especially of minors, was also a strong criticism of developments in the country. 

Another problem is related to the phenomenon of money laundering, where more work is required./ CNA.al
