The concessionaire company EMS-APO follows the accusations/ The Port Authority

The concessionaire company EMS-APO claimed on Saturday morning that the processing activity of refujo cargo ships at the Eastern terminal of the Port of Durrës has been blocked.

The Port Authority of Durrës objected to the concessionaire company, accusing it of abusing information in an attempt to cover up the fact that it is one of the worst performing companies.

But this Monday, EMS-APO has come out with another reaction, stating that access to the concession area has been compromised and restricted.

The company states that the Port Authority must return to legality by freeing the concession areas.

" We refer to the clarification given by the APD regarding the serious incident that occurred on 29.07.2023.

Contrary to what APD claims, it has violated and limited the access of EMS APO to the Concession Areas. As can be understood from the photos and documents (available for download below), the areas that APD claims will be developed in the course of the development of the Durrës Marina & Yacht project are, in fact, part of the EMS Concession Area OR. APD has handed over these areas according to the terminal handover protocol.

The concrete blocks placed by APD are located within our Concession Area and limit the movement of our vehicles and our customers, i.e. the concessionaire activity. The presentation of the event by APD as an intervention to realize rights arising from the law, is untrue. The fact is that APD on 29.07.2023 forcibly took areas from our Concession Areas, occupying them. Violation of the concessionary rights of EMS APO by APD has been frequent after the government approved the Durres Marina & Yachts project.

Regarding the performance of EMS APO, the international companies that have implemented the most important projects in Albania think differently from APD. They have trusted the professionalism of EMS APO and we have never once disappointed their trust. We find the opportunity to invite the APD again to return to legality by freeing our concession areas" , the statement says./ CNA.al
