Journalist Klodiana Lala has raised the alarm regarding the situation at the Sharra landfill.

Invited to MCN TV, the journalist stated that the landfill's capacities are being exhausted and the landfill is on the verge of closure.

She said that there is a high risk that Tirana will be overrun by garbage.

The journalist said that millions of euros have been wasted and the real perpetrators have been brought before SPAK.

"Landfill capacities are being exhausted. The Sharra landfill is about to close. There is a high risk that it will be overturned by garbage. This request shows that the Rama government has brought the situation to the point where the entire Tirana region will be flooded with garbage. The company asks the region's municipalities to separate waste at source.

Citizens must separate their waste and have designated bins. The only municipality that spoke was Vora and they said it was impossible, we don't have the human and financial capacity and the only option we are proposing is to open an old landfill.

"I'm saying millions have disappeared and the landfill is being closed. SPAK has not brought the real perpetrators to justice," said Lala./ CNA
