The legal advisor of the exploits of Ilir Meta/ How the People's Advocate

Bledar Dërvishaj is one of the candidates aiming for the seat of the People's Advocate.

Dervishaj was the legal adviser in the Presidency, during the time when the institution was headed by Ilir Meta.

Today, Dervishaj appeared alongside Meta, entering SPAK.

The candidate for the People's Advocate, who appears in public as Ilir Meta's right-hand man, is trying to politicize an independent institution that should be at the service of the citizens and not Ilir Meta.

Zyra e avokatit të popullit, nuk mund të vihet në shërbim të Ilir Metës, dhe dosjeve që ai ka në SPAK.
Kriteret për Avokatin e Popullit, sipas Ligjit për Avokatin e Popullit janë të qarta.

Një ndër nenet e këtij Ligji është se Avokati i Popullit ndalohet të bëjë pjesë në parti apo organizata politike, të kryejë veprimtari tjetër politike, shtetërore e profesionale dhe të marrë pjesë në organizmat drejtues të organizatave shoqërore, ekonomike dhe tregtare.

Neni 2

Detyrat e Avokatit të Popullit Avokati i Popullit mbron të drejtat, liritë dhe interesat e ligjshëm të individit nga veprimet ose mosveprimet e paligjshme e të parregullta të organeve të administratës publike, si dhe të të tretëve që veprojnë për llogari të saj.

Ai është nxitës i standardeve më të larta të të drejtave dhe lirive të njeriut në vend.

Avokati i Popullit i udhëhequr nga parimet e paanësisë, konfidencialitetit, profesionalizmit dhe pavarësisë ushtron veprimtarinë në mbrojtje të të drejtave dhe të lirive të njeriut, të parashikuara në dispozita kushtetuese dhe në ligje.

Dispozitat e këtij ligji zbatohen edhe për mbrojtjen e të drejtave të të huajve, të cilët janë ose jo, rezidentë të rregullt në Shqipëri, të refugjatëve, azilkërkuesve si dhe të personave pa shtetësi që ndodhen në territorin e Republikës së Shqipërisë, sipas kushteve të parashikuara në ligj.

Avokati i Popullit kryen edhe detyra të tjera të caktuara me ligje të veçanta.

Neni 3

Conditions to be elected Ombudsman Any person who meets the following conditions can be an Ombudsman:
a): be an Albanian citizen.
b): to have outstanding knowledge and activities in the field of freedoms and human rights and the law;
c): stand out for professional skills and a clean ethical-moral figure;
ç): not to have been criminally convicted
d): not to be a deputy in the legislature of the Assembly that makes the proposal or his election.

Article 10

Incompatibilities with the function of the People's Advocate
The People's Advocate is forbidden to be part of a political party or organization, to carry out other political, state and professional activities and to participate in the governing bodies of social, economic and commercial organizations.
