CNA learned today that two members of the RTSH Steering Council, Gëzim Podgorica and Genc Përmeti, have resigned.

This entire situation comes as a result of denunciations of massive violations that have been committed in the institution that is paid for with Albanian taxpayers' money.

With a structure that has been perhaps too bloated for decades, turned into a petty agenda, RTSH is unfortunately a media outlet with a minimal audience that citizens' pockets pay for with their bills.

The denunciations made clearly show the abuses that have been committed at the Albanian Public Radio and Television.

Monday's hearing with members of the Steering Council at the Media Commission showed the low level of personalities that made up the Steering Council.

Personalities who were unaware of their competencies and did not know the law and the statute of RTSH.

The facts and documents show everything.

The facts show how money was taken from RTSH funds, how the RTSH statute and the law on incompatibility and conflict of interest were violated, how the head of this Council lied under oath to the Commission, as well as the documents showing the forged signature for the meeting held on January 6 for the competition for the new RTSH director.

Faced with these facts and evidence of violations committed by the Governing Council, this structure is heading towards dissolution by parliament, which will hold it accountable for all actions and inactions that have occurred in violation of the law./ CNA
