GJKKO rejected the request of Fredi Beler, for relief of the measure against him, leaving him in prison.

Beleri was arrested two days before the May 14 elections, on charges of vote buying. Although he was in the cell on the day of the elections, he won in the municipality of Himara, but he could not take the oath because he is in prison.

He asked to be allowed to take the oath, but such a thing was not allowed by the relevant authorities.

Decision of GJKKO:

"1. The person under investigation, Dhionisios Alfred Beleri, on 26.12.2013 submitted to the Court the request with the object: Revocation or replacement of the security measure.

2. At the end of the trial, the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime with a panel composed of judges Erjon Çela, Irena Gjoka and Flora Hajredinaj, based on articles 112 and 260 of the Penal Code, with decision No. 552, dated 28.12.2023, decided:
1. Dismissal of the request of the applicant (defendant) Dhionisios Alfred Beleri, with No. 522 Reg. I say. Dt. Reg. 26.12.2023 with the object "Revocation or replacement of the measure of personal insurance "Arrest in prison".
2. Against this decision, an appeal can be made to the Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime, within 5 days, which period starts from the day after the announcement of the decision.
