On Thursday, the Special Court gave the decision for the former mayor of Bulqiza, Lefter Alla, who was sentenced to 3 years in prison for abusing the tender for the water supply worth 3 million euros.

Due to the shortened trial, Alla will eventually suffer 2 years of imprisonment. The former high official is prohibited from exercising public functions for 5 years.

Alla was arrested on March 15, 2023, together with 12 other people, for violating equality in tenders and abuse of office on suspicions of abuse in a tender worth 3 million euros.

He is accused of cooperating with other former officials in favoring two companies during the public procurement procedure in order for the water supply works to be carried out by the company 'OE 2AF Albania shpk', which is under the administration of Alla's relative, Aqif Cones. The companies that won the tender were 'BOE Egland shpk' and 'BE-IS shpk'.

In the meantime, the punishments for the other 9 officials, as well as the employees of the private firms that benefited from the tender, have also been revealed.

Penalties: 

1 year and 8 months in prison, Enkelejda Lleshit, released on bail.

After serving 14 months in prison, Rubin Kola, Arsen Gjoka and Kujtim Zogu are released on bail.

Leonard Daci is sentenced to 1 year and 2 months in prison, released on bail.

Erion Isaku is sentenced to 2 years in prison.

Rasim Daci is sentenced to 1 year and 8 months in prison.

1 year and 4 months in prison Aqif Koneshan, Lefter Alla's relative.

Dali Gazidedja is sentenced to 1 year in prison, released on bail. /CNA
