Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu, were in Durrës today to see up close the progress of the works on the new complex of the Faculty of Professional Studies, which is being built near the "Aleksandër Moisiu" University, Durrës, an investment of the Ministry of Education and Sports.
"It is an investment that will change the quality of teaching in professional studies, because the faculty will have 30 auditoriums, 15 technical science laboratories and will also have recreational facilities for students, to make this campus with the best European standards. Importantly, this project has also planned the library and laboratories, which practically expand the capacities of studies in professional branches. Professional branches at the University of Durrës are sought-after branches, mainly related to all professions, from technicians, vehicle technicians, marine engineering and navigation and technical medical sciences", said the Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu.
This project, worth 1 billion lek, will create modern conditions for 1,700 students and 80 lecturers of this faculty. The new infrastructure will include conference rooms, libraries, sports fields and recreational facilities for students and academic staff.
"There are over 1,700 students who will benefit from this new investment, which paves the way for another investment, a residence for students, combining it with other public services. On both sides of the university campus, we have other investments for sports, such as Manchester City for the academy and also the Rafael Nadal tennis academy. This makes it a real complex of services not only educational, but also educational and sports", added Minister Manastirliu.
"Aleksandër Moisiu" University, Durrës, since its establishment, has shown stability in the number of registered students and continues to be supported through investments in teaching and laboratory infrastructure.
In addition to the University of Durrës, the Albanian government's investments continue in other higher education institutions, such as the reconstruction of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, the reconstruction of the Faculty of Geology-Mining and the construction of the Geology Museum at the UPT, the construction of the Football Field and Athletics Track at the University of Sports, as well as the construction of the Faculty of Medical and Technical Sciences at the University of Elbasan./CNA
