Ibrahimaj: We don't pay money for incinerators, Tirana Municipality gives

"No money is paid from the budget for the incinerator of Elbasan and Fier. The Municipality of Tirana gives the money for the incinerator of Tirana".

The Minister of Finance, Delina Ibrahimaj, today in the Assembly billed the Tirana Municipality for the payments for the non-existent incinerators.

But the truth is that, every year since the beginning of the contract, the government has given 10 million dollars a year to the incinerator of Tirana from the unconditional transfer and on the other hand this has come by reducing the payments made by the government to the Municipality of Tirana.

On the other hand, the government has paid the funds for the waste evacuation from Durrës to the Tirana incinerator.

Minister Ibrahimaj pointed the finger at the Municipality of Tirana regarding the incinerator, but in fact, in the last 6 years, the largest amount of money has been paid by the Albanian government, not the municipality./ CNA
