In an atmosphere of pain, the community of believers of the Orthodox Church, family and friends, today said their final farewell to priest Kristaq Viso, a beloved and respected figure who served God and people with devotion for decades.

Archbishop Joan Pelushi, in his consoling speech, emphasized the endless devotion and willingness of priest Kristaq Viso. He described him as a tireless worker, always ready for any task, and underlined the hope of the Christian faith in resurrection and eternal life.

" Today we bid our dear brother priest Kristo farewell, who will always remain in our memory as a tireless, tireless worker. Whenever he was called for any work, he was ready. We hope that his deeds will follow him because we believe that life does not end, and therefore we do not despair like those who have no hope - says Saint Paul. We must always remember these words because we have hope that in God there are no dead. Our God is not the God of the dead but of the living, and all are alive in God. We believe in the resurrection because the foundation of our faith is precisely that God defeated death. We despair when loved ones leave and we grieve for this, but we do not despair like those who have no hope. Because we have hope in the resurrection. I pray that God may rest his soul in the tents of the righteous and that his family and all his loved ones may live and always remember him! May his memory be eternal." Father Kristaq Mërtiri, a close friend and fellow minister of the deceased, shared the last moments of the life of priest Kristaq Viso. He said that the tragic event occurred during a volunteer work on the roof of a church, where materials were being prepared for the restoration of the Çiflig Monastery.

 

"That day he climbed onto the roof of the church where I serve, to remove some sheet metal that we were going to use to restore the monastery in Çiflig. The church was very dilapidated because it was made of wooden panels and they were damaged by condensation and could not hold weight. That day Kristaq worked a little, he dismantled all the sheets and while running back, a hole had opened and he fell inside the church. That was the whole story. It is rare to find a person like him ," said Father Kristaq Mërtiri.

 

Father Kristaq Mërtiri considers Kristaq Vison an exemplary priest who performed his duties with great devotion, as an active and very energetic man, staying close to the citizens at every moment.

" As a priest, he was an exemplary priest who performed his work with the greatest devotion, his duty to God and the people he served. He was an active and very energetic man, despite the fact that age takes its toll. Even though he was 66 years old, he was active not only in spiritual problems but also in physical and material problems, providing assistance ," Father Kristaq Mërtiri further stated.

 

Priest Kristaq Viso passed away yesterday morning, after several days in serious condition in a Tirana hospital due to injuries sustained from his fall from the roof of the church of the Holy Trinity. He will remain in the memory of believers as a humble, active man and always close to the community. His memory will live on among the people who knew and loved him./ CNA
