The General Director of the State Police, in the wake of the very important meetings held during the days of the Annual Conference of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, has held another important meeting with the director of ICITAP, Gregory Ducot, with the aim of strengthening of cooperation between the State Police and American law enforcement agencies, this cooperation built and strengthened on sound foundations of mutual trust.

During the meeting, the General Director of the State Police introduced the director of ICITAP, Gregory Ducot, with the reforms in the State Police, which were aimed at improving the structural organization, optimal management of human resources and the adaptation of these structures to the institutions new justice and criminal prosecution.

Also, the General Director informed Dukot about the strategic priorities of the State Police, which came as a result of an in-depth analysis and a detailed assessment of criminal threats, as well as about the successful operations of the State Police, in cooperation with SPAK and with the General Jurisdiction Prosecutors' Offices throughout Albania, which were finalized with the crackdown on structured criminal groups of drug trafficking and distribution and consequently with the arrest of a large number of perpetrators and the seizure of significant amounts of materials narcotics, weapons and other material evidence.

The General Director of the State Police assured Ducot that the recent results are also a contribution of the assistance provided by the American law enforcement agencies, which have continuously supported the structures of the State Police, for the strengthening of professional and logistical capacities .

For his part, Dukot said that he has followed closely the developments of the operations in Albania, for which he was informed by the ICITAP office in Tirana, as well as congratulated the General Director for the results and especially for the effective cooperation between the Police State and Prosecution bodies.

He assessed that the partnership between ICITAP and the Albanian Police is one of the first in the region and assured that the support for the State Police will continue without sparing, either in the further strengthening of professional and logistical capacities./ CNA
