Court releases 4 arrested for Ymer's murder/ Evidence emerges: When I

The Shkodra Court has remanded in prison the four suspects arrested for the murder of Hysni Ymer.

Gert Bushati has been remanded in custody by the First Instance Court in Shkodra, suspected of the murder of Hysni Ymer.

Bushati admitted that he was the person who placed the explosives on December 27th in the electrical meter panel, which exploded two days later, killing the 67-year-old.

In his statement to the police, the suspected perpetrator Bushati said that the three other arrested citizens Edison Hasaj, Gjergj Zefi and Ergys Ibrahimi were the people who contacted him to determine the amount of TNT.

Meanwhile, the court also issued "Arrest with imprisonment" for Gjergj Zefi, Ergys Ibrahimi, Edison Hasaj, suspected of participating in the murder of Hysni Ymer with TNT.

These three citizens have not admitted the incident to the police and have not spoken in court, represented by lawyers. They have stated that they have no connection with the TNT and have denied that they could be the ones who ordered Gert Bushati.

Despite this, the police have seized phones and have wiretaps as well as a number of other pieces of evidence that could implicate these three people.

The person who placed the TNT, Gert Bushati, stated that he had no knowledge that the amount of explosive he would place would be enough to kill someone.

He said he was told by the people who ordered it that it would only be to scare someone and not to kill.

"When I learned that citizen Hysni Ymeri had died, I was terrified. I had no knowledge of the murder just to scare someone. Citizens Gjergj Zefi, Edison Hasaj and Ergys Ibrahimi contacted me about this job and I accepted. I placed the TNT on December 27th, but without knowing that it was a murder."

Gert Bushati has also stated that he has no idea what the reason for placing the TNT was and that his role was only to place it without having more information about this issue.

According to investigative sources, some time ago the same amount of explosives was placed again but the first time it did not explode. Under these conditions, Gert Bushati placed it a second time on December 27th and two days later the explosives exploded, killing citizen Hysni Ymeri.

Initially, the hearing was held for citizens Ergys Ibrahimi, Gjergj Zefi and Edison Hasaj. Meanwhile, for Gert Bushati, who admitted to placing the explosives, the security measure was held separately.

As long as the three other suspected citizens have not confessed and have not provided any details, it still remains unclear what the reason for Hysni Ymer's murder is.

The 4 arrested suspects are charged with "premeditated murder committed in collaboration", "destruction of property with explosives", "illegal possession and production of explosive weapons and ammunition". They are also charged with "production and sale of narcotics in collaboration" and "disturbing public peace".

The victim's brother was suspected of murdering citizen Shefqet Çekorja years ago, in 1995.

Meanwhile, in 2017, a cousin of his, citizen Dritan Ymeri, is suspected of being the author of the murder of doctor Ilir Aliaj, but fled Albania after the incident.

The police and the prosecution are investigating these two leads, as well as any other possible leads, because it is still unclear whether the murder of Hysni Ymer is related to the two aforementioned events or to some other conflict.

A few days before the murder, Hysni Ymer's son, who lives abroad and was in the hospital with his mother, who is fighting for her life due to a serious illness, arrived in Albania.
